Abstract :

Celiac disease is a multisystem immune based disorder that is triggered by the ingestion of gluten in genetically susceptible individuals. Our study was limited to a survey of the prevalence of Celiac disease in adult in two Syrian governorates (Homs and Tartous), Statistics were collected from hospitals and clinics of gastroenterologists and nutritionists, during the period of 2014-2022. 4000 cases of Celiac disease were recorded in these two Syrian governorates with a population of about 5 million people with ages ranging from 20-33, that is 0.08% in these cases. The presence of HLA class II antigens was observed in all people with Celiac disease as HLA DQ2 was found in 82% of celiac disease patients, and HLA DQ8 was found in the rest. It is very important that follow-up showed that the results of antibody tests (Transglutaminase IgA) in patients adhering to the gluten-free diet decreased from 200 to 100 “during a year of treatment” and to 20 “during two years of treatment” in all patients. The decrease in antibodies was accompanied by a clear improvement in the absorption of iron and other elements, and a good improvement in the growth of intestinal villi in patients who underwent intestinal biopsies. In the absence of Celiac disease many people identifying themselves as “being gluten sensitive”. The biological basis of gluten induced symptoms in the absence of Celiac disease is largely unknown but may be related to immune responses to components of wheat apart from gluten.

Abstract :

Vit D deficiency is a public health problem worldwide. According to epidemiological studies, low Vit D levels have been associated with an increased risk of certain neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorder, but the risk of high concentration of Vit D is not clearly affect in nervous system.. In this research, we studied whether vitamin D concentrations were associated with the activity of the nervous system in healthy people by comparing catecholamines concentrations in blood of 42 healthy women (age = 40-50 years old, body mass index: 22.7 ± 2.1 kg/m2). We had three groups as Vit D levels: (Deficient: vit D: ≤ 20 ng/L), (insufficient vita D 20-29 ng/L), (Sufficient vit D: ≥30≤70 ng/L). In our study:_ Plasma Noradrenaline decreased statistically significant ( p˂0.005) in high levels of vit D, _ Plasma Adrenaline increased statistically significant ( p˂0.005) in high levels of vit D,_ Plasma Dopamine increased statistically significant only in high levels of vitamin D. It should be mentioned that high levels of vita D has also been related to mood disorders, movement and a Calcium status. There was a statistical association between several measures of nervous system, hormones activity and vita D levels. This suggests that vita D induces catecholamine synthesis and/or secretion.

ABSTRACT :

Since the mouth is the ideal habitat for the development of all types of organisms, the gums are likely to be exposed to many diseases caused by certain types of bacteria. Therefore, it is necessary to constantly search for suitable types of effective antibiotics that can eliminate gum infections.
A paper research includes a set of questions. The paper research questionnaire was distributed to one hundred dentists with an average experience of no less than 9 years. The research form addressed eight antibiotics recommended for use in treating Gum infections. In a statistical analysis of doctors’ answers about the most common antibiotics they use to treat gum infections, metronidazole ranked first, followed by amoxicillin and valdoxycycline. While clindamycin and ciprofloxacin ranked last. Doctors must currently commit not to prescribe antibiotics when there is a possibility of a patient’s spontaneous recovery, for fear of incorrect use of antibiotics, which leads to an increase in the spread of bacterial resistance.
